No, you haven’t won the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes. Sorry, no visit from Ed McMahon. However, you do get to attend the Class of 1997 Class Reunion at… (drumroll)
We will kick off the weekend at the NorthWood HS parking lot on Friday September 14th with a tailgate party just like old times before the football game with Wawasee. This will be a family-oriented affair so if you have one, bring them along! It will be great to catch up with everyone who can make it and if you have kids, I will play with them until they get fussy
Saturday night September 15th will be our banquet for graduates and their guests. More details will come, but hopefully that helps those of you needing to arrange travel.

PS – does anyone have equipment that would be suitable for playing background music at the dinner? We thought about a DJ, but thought maybe we would be more into talking and catching up than boogieing. We welcome any music ideas or donations of CD’s/songs that make you think about the good ol’ days.

Wow! Thanks Jess for all your hard work. Let me know what I can do…even though you didn’t take MY suggestion for the reunion!
Can’t wait to see everybody.

You can rest assured you will mostly likely be put to work
Sorry I didn’t go with your suggestion, but after checking into things, I think it will be the best for us reunion rookies. By the way, you know you can’t complain because you’ll get to plan the next one! (evil grin)

So I had a great response back from a number of people once I put the plea out for any ‘97 grads to “speak now or forever hold your peace”! I had a lot of our fellow male grads say that they were all for the Hall of Fame and felt that a DJ was well worth the added expense. The suggestion was to add a few dollars to the “get in” cost at the Hall of Fame to cover the cost of the DJ. A couple guys were even willing to set up a good DJ. What do you think?

Well I’m glad they were ok with the hall of fame because it has been reserved. If they want to check around and see what kind of prices they can get for Sept. 15, they are free to do that. Just don’t have them commit to anything until they check with me first. I just don’t want the cost to go too high. Have them see what they can find though. Thanks!
Brandon, I haven’t forgotten about you, I just haven’t had a moment to scan those phone numbers in. I’ll get them to you as soon as I can.

Do we know how much this is going to be per couple? I would like to plan but I need to know all the costs of everything so we can plan.

Lisa,
I am currently working with the catering team to come up with a nice meal for us all. I am shooting for somewhere between $30-40 and I will not let it go higher than that. I will be sending out invitations in the next couple weeks as long as we get the menu settled, and then that will have the exact amount on there. Hopefully that should give you enough info for now.
Thanks for checking back!

I bet Wes Burnworth would DJ this event. He’s pretty awesome.

Nick Mitchell would like to know if he has to wear a tie if he comes…

No, but I do need him to sign up on the website so I have his contact information so I can send him the much-anticipated invites!
I will be sending out an email next week with a list of all the people we have info for (I will not send out the info, just names) so if you have signed up you can see who else is on there. You can also see who is not so you can let them know about the reunion. The more people we have, the more fun it will be!
