Thanks for sharing this video, Dan.  I am currently trying to figure out a way to put our video up.  I don’t want everyone to see it because it has a lot of personal info.  However, everyone should definitely see this! 

The Reunion is THIS WEEKEND!

I hope you are all as eagerly awaiting this weekend as I am. I just wanted to give you a little info.

Remember that Friday night, the Panthers take on the Wawasee Indians at Andrews Field and we will tailgate before the game. Feel free to come anytime after 4:30 and get a spot. Mikel and I will be there early so just look for us out in the parking lot. You need to bring your own table service and main food and if you can, a side or dessert to share. If you want to stay for the game, that is fine, but you are welcome to just hang out or go home. Please bring your kids and any games that would be fun for the group. I know I probably don’t need to say this, but please remember we are on school grounds so this should be a “tame” tailgating group - you know what I am implying!

Then, Saturday night starting at 6 PM, meet at the Hall of Fame for check-in and cocktail hour with dinner at 7:15. Beginning at 8PM we will enjoy some musical stylings from the 90’s up to today and have some time to tour the museum, check out the classmate video on the big screen, and catch up with old friends.  I have had many people ask what to wear.  I will just say that I will probably wear a skirt or dress and Mikel will probably wear nice pants and a shirt but I told him he didn’t have to wear a tie.  I don’t know what the term is for this, but you can go with it.  As long as you’ve paid, we’ll let you in

what to eat???

Anyone care to weigh in on food choices? Right now we are looking at some options for plated dinners or a buffet style dinner which is either pasta or a taco bar. I didn’t know if we needed to offer a choice of main course, like if we have pork or chicken, do we need to also offer a different meat or vegetarian option? We can’t offer too many options because every time we change, we add $$ to the total cost. If we do a buffet, you can pick and choose, but I didn’t know what people would want. You have until Sunday to weigh in on your thoughts. Hope people still read this!

No, you haven’t won the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes.  Sorry, no visit from Ed McMahon.  However, you do get to attend the Class of 1997 Class Reunion at… (drumroll)

College Football Hall of Fame

We will kick off the weekend at the NorthWood HS parking lot on Friday September 14th with a tailgate party just like old times before the football game with Wawasee.  This will be a family-oriented affair so if you have one, bring them along!  It will be great to catch up with everyone who can make it and if you have kids, I will play with them until they get fussy

Saturday night September 15th will be our banquet for graduates and their guests.  More details will come, but hopefully that helps those of you needing to arrange travel.

Reunion Update

Hi all.  Mary Eby and I are going to check out a few promising places for our reunion this Monday.  Please pray we are very productive in this one day, since I took a day off work and she is only home this week before she heads out to Alaska for her next nursing adventure.  We want it to be special for you all and are trying to find the “perfect” place.  Once we have the location, that will determine our date and we will let you know right away so those of you who need to make travel arrangements can do that.

Many of you have said you would be willing to help.  That is awesome!  Right now, to help you can keep passing this website along.  We currently have 54 people, 44 of which we had in the first two weeks!  Things have tapered off a bit, so if you live down the road from someone and think they haven’t been told (or need a reminder) please encourage them to register their info.  This does not commit you to coming to the reunion - it just helps me keep track of where you are! 

Once we have our facility nailed down, I may be recruiting some of you for different committees.  Thank you for your willingness to help out.

Finally, I just heard this past week that another one of our classmates has passed away.  I would like to send my sympathies to the Doiron family and those of you who were his close friends.  As a class, I would like to start some sort of memorial fund.  If anyone has any ideas on this, I would also be willing to work on that with you.

Thanks to those that have already registered. If you haven’t done that yet, please do. We won’t share the contact information you submit during registration with anyone. But we thought it would be neat for everyone to see where everyone is living these days. So if you want, add a marker to the NWHS Class of 1997 Map.

Hello fellow 1997 NorthWood grads!  You can register now to receive information and updates on our reunion being planned for this fall.  Who should sign up?

1. If you are a 1997 NWHS graduate and are looking forward to attending the reunion.
2. If you are a 1997 NWHS graduate who does not plan on coming to the reunion. (Why?  Because hearing about it might change your mind, and we can be sure you have been given the opportunity to come by sending you the info.)

I promise you won’t get a ton of annoying emails, because most of the planning will be updated on this website.  The contact list will only be used to send out the final details, invitations, and any other pertinent information.  Please pass this along to your friends from our graduating class, so we can find as many people as possible in a timely manner.

I look forward to hearing from you all, because I have heard about where some of you are and what you are doing and it is awesome! 

Test Site for NorthWood High School Class of 1997 Reunion

If you were a NWHS graduate in 1997, you are in the right place.  Our ten-year reunion is fast-approaching.  We will post information on this site and allow for comments from classmates.  We will be adding some sites that may be of interest as well as an information tracker so you can record your email and snail mail addresses with the committee so we can send you the details when the date gets closer.  As of right now, this is an experiment to see if this is the best forum, or at least something that will work.  If you happen upon this and are from our class, please leave a comment.

We are thinking of a September/October date.  We are open to ideas or suggestions on time/place/activities/volunteers!
